Expert Spotlight: Sam Tom

As a child, Sam Tom, Vice President of Kelly Science & Clinical, concluded that the impossible could be achieved through science. This realization drove him to earn a bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry from Cornell University, a master's and doctoral degrees in biochemistry from the University of Rochester, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Johns Hopkins University. For the last 20+ years, Tom has led the development and commercialization of advanced biologics, drugs, devices, and tissue-based products for various companies, including a large pharmaceutical. And he has made the impossible possible with science, as an inventor on more than 20 issued patents and patent applications describing first-in-class products, including Prochymal® (remestemcel-L), the world's first approved drug with a stem cell as its active ingredient.
